New science lab feature

This video was created to celebrate Caltech’s new Chen Neuroscience Research Building. It features Dr. Wagenaar and shows how this new building is expanding the capabilities and accessibility of his lab. 

For this project, I was given the voice over script and a lot of creative freedom for the visual direction. I illustrated all the storyboards and then brought it all to life with animation. 

One of the challenges was showing some of the complicated equipment the scientists use in a way that was easy to understand.

Removing Carbon Dioxide

This video shares some of the ideas scientists are working on to mitigate the carbon dioxide in our atmosphere. 

As I created the illustrations, my goal was to show these concepts in ways that are easy to understand. I chose to use yellow for carbon dioxide throughout the video so the audience can quickly recognize what is happening in each method presented. 

When animating, I pushed myself to focus on creating interesting transitions between scenes and I am really proud of what I made.
